LIFESteps Collaborates to Co-Sponsor Bill to Help Seniors

A Los Angeles, California resident, Gil Seton is a manager at SP Investment Fund, a financial services firm that invests in real estate and emerging technology ventures. In addition to serving in this role at SP Investment Fund, Gil Seton also supports organizations such as LIFESteps, a community organization that provides support services to various groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly.

In March 2022, LIFESteps announced that it was co-sponsoring a bill with LeadingAge California making it possible for senior citizens to access affordable healthcare and housing. Assembly Bill 2548, also called the Healthy Homes-Age in Place Nursing Program, will allow seniors to remain in the same location, “age in place,” instead of relocating to more expensive housing.

Assembly member Adrin Nazarian authored the bill that is a part of the larger Aging and Long-term Care Bill Package. The purpose of the bill is to address the social inequities that seniors on the lower-income scale face. According to the LIFESteps press release, if this bill can address some of the issues seniors face related to housing and healthcare in particular, then this is one step in the right direction in fixing the affordable housing and healthcare issues for everyone in California.
